The plan - in 250 days by bike through 22 countries from Bern to Singapore. Around 17,000 kilometers to be ridden, a good 100,000 meters in altitude, departure on April 1, 2023, return by plane on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Weight in the saddlebags +/- 30 kilos per bike (tent, sleeping bag, kitchen , clothing, provisions, etc.). We see the sporting challenge as the top priority and plan to ride 6 days a week with one rest day in order to cover a daily mileage of a good 80 kilometers. We are particularly looking forward to the many encounters with people from other cultures and breathtaking landscapes.

Donations for Diabetes Switzerland

collecting for a good cause

Around half a million people in Switzerland are affected by diabetes. The number of sick people worldwide is estimated at around 500 million, and the trend is rising sharply. We have decided to collect money for the Diabetes Society, which will benefit those affected. Professionally, we have been dealing with diabetic feet in the field of podiatry for half a century and Nicolas did his commercial apprenticeship at Ypsomed AG, which is a world leader in the field of self-medication for diabetics. Sports and exercise also have a positive effect on blood sugar, improve insulin sensitivity, reduce excess weight, counteract high blood pressure and reduce the risk of complications. All in all, a good reason to support precisely this target group with our collected donations!

We would be very happy if you also make a small contribution. With one click you are there. You can choose whether your name should appear as a donor on our website or whether you want to donate anonymously. Any contribution is welcome. It is important for us to mention that we finance our trip 100% ourselves and every cent donated is given 1:1 to the organization Diabetes Switzerland. We would then like to round up the final amount so that there is a nice number on the check to be handed over. Thank you for your support!

Why do you want to implement the donation project for people with diabetes?

In our daily work at Simon Keller AG, diabetes mellitus has always been a major issue. Our customers all have professions in the body-related sector and this disease is particularly present in podiatry. Diabetes is not a death sentence in this country. If recognized in time, there are therapies and medical options that allow a normal life. On our journey, we will not cross a single country where diabetes is not an issue. China in particular has one of the highest rates.

Why is the Keller company dealing with this?

Recognizing the symptoms is important. For this reason we offer at our school - theSwiss Wellness Academy- Training courses that help our customers to recognize as well as to assess and delegate to professionals. Our customers have a responsibility and a high level of competence is expected. Another highlight in the industry is the one that we have been organizing for many yearsNational Foot Expert Day, at which well-known professors and doctors give presentations on the subject (diabetic foot syndrome, etc.). Here, too, we are happy to support you with our know-how.

And otherwise?

5 years ago, Simon Keller AG developed the first natural foot care line in Switzerland -SatisFeet. Our most important goal was that these products are suitable for diabetics. The sensitivity and needs of the skin change with diabetes mellitus - this development must be taken into account. We find that we have been very successful in hitting the market in Switzerland as well as abroad.

Can I support you?

Yes of course and with pleasure. Every cent goes to diabetesschweiz for the benefit of those affected.
